gifts gifts ?Mitt Romney Should Go To Kinkos

Robert Gibbs, campaign adviser to President Barack Obama, said Sunday that Mitt Romney could resolve his tax headache by simply heading to Kinkos with a little pocket change.

We could put this to rest tomorrow, Gibbs, Obamas former press secretary, said on CNNs State of the Union. Mitt Romney can go to Kinkos, photocopy his tax returns. There are several hundred pages. He could hand them out to people like CNN and to reporters all over the country, and we wouldnt talk about this tomorrow. We wouldnt say, Is he paying taxes? Whats he paying? The whole world would know what loopholes hes taking advantage of.

Discussion of Romneys taxes consumed much of the Sunday show circuit this week. The presumptive GOP candidates backers assailed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid D-Nev. for his statements to The Huffington Post and on the Senate floor that he knew an early Bain Capital investor who said Romney didnt pay any taxes for a decade.

Sen. Axelrod also raised the fact that several prominent conservatives, including Bill Kristol and George Will, have said that Romney should release his tax returns in order to end the politically damaging discussion.

So they ought to release those tax returns and that would put all of this to rest, Axelrod said.

HuffPost High School welcomes a lively, thoughtful debate in the comment section. He showed McCains campaign 28 years of taxes but he wont release three or four years for the American public that he wants to put him in as President?

John McCain said there were no red flags, but is that the view of a guy who also uses loopholes and deductions to protect his money. John McCain released his taxes so I dont think so - I just think McCain is projecting that he did what was legal as Romney people always state, but that we the peoplewill have raised eyebrows.

One report said while what Mitt did was legal, it is close to the line of unethical. Hiding taxes his sons would be obligated to pay on their $1 M times 5 from him, AND carried taxes people originating investments paid larger share so he paid only 15%, and he directed funds so people wouldinvest in American companies and benefit from their growth/profits but not pay any US taxes. Prior to wanting to be President, it seems Mitt worked against our government and our ability to meet our obligations in failing to pay taxes. That seems paradoxical - he wants to run a country he does not want to financially support. gifts
